Originally from Warrenton, Virginia, David received his BA from the University of Montana and his Masters of Fine Arts degree from California Institute of the Arts. He pursued post-graduate studies at Harvard and the University of California at Los Angeles. After eight years as the Art & Design Coordinator at the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences, David opted for the quiet life in... AIKEN. At the Governor's request, David served three years as a Commissioner on the South Carolina Arts Commission. He currently serves on the Boards of the Free Medical Clinic of Aiken County and the Aiken Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA). He is active with the Augusta Rowing Club and the Aiken Board of Realtors, where he has served as an officer and received recognition for his extraordinary sales. In 2005 David was pleased to endow a Music Scholarship at the University of South Carolina-Aiken in honor of his mother, Barbara Rogers Stinson. In true Aiken fashion, that scholarship has grown quickly through the generous donations of friends and supporters in the area.
